If something was lost, it could have been one of three small reactors that were developed. I can't visualize one of these being lost. These three weighed tons. If some other device was made, I doubt that it would be still be operating at anything near full efficiency. The actual locations of where the three reactors were deployed is not known to me, that they were made i do know. I am well aware of the prototype due to some training long ago. As to the device that he tried to describe, they are not a nuclear reactor, but more like a large battery, and similar devices have been used on deep space launches, with radioactive decay's heat being used to power the electronics. These devices haver subtropical critical amounts of radioactive fuel. So, an explosion is highly unlikely.
