Of course, the war crimes of the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese Army shall never be mentioned. The 3,000 (approximately) Vietnamese and foreigners (including medical volunteers not tied to the US or South Vietnamese government taken out of Hue during the Tet Offensive, marched into the jungle an killed (some were still alive when they went into the mass graves) is an example. The parading of US prisoners through Vietnamese villages where the local were encouraged to beat them or poke at them (why some of the MIA's are MIA's. The mistreatment of US fliers imprisoned in North Vietnam (I personally meet one officer who dislocated his shoulder on bailout and not only received no medical treatment, his shoulder was not put back in place; but was tortured by using that injury to inflict pain. Yes, both sides played dirty; but even today the communist sins will never receive coverage for general public.

@TrungCyf when the enemy hides in populated areas deaths occur. When you attack enemy supply lines, depots and resources deaths occur. War is horrible by its nature; however, 8n May 1959 the a North Vietnamese began sending people to South Vietnam. As part of that they increased their efforts in Laos to create what we called the Ho Chin Minh Trail. So, who decided to begin the wnd Indochinese War is pretty clear.

@chithiennguyen1371 The North Vietnamese were waging an aggressive (terrorist and guerilla consistently throughout the war) war against the South Vietnamese Government starting in May 1959 (559th Regiment was created to move troops and supplies south). So, innocents are harmed in war; and the Viet Cong and later the North Vietnamese Army killed South Vietnamese civilians. War is hell, and when you start one you expect to cause deaths. The communist forces assassinated teachers, government officials and those they considered in the way as well as their families, often in disgusting ways. The US bombed supply lines, depots, and related targets The North Vietnamese located AA units in populated areas and dykes which made them legitimate targets. I won`t get into the treatment of US pilots captured or infantrymen captured in the South. I have met several, and all I will say is that if the US public had been made aware, I suspect that there would have been more support for a different ending to our participation in that conflict. It makes it very hard to be sympathetic toward the government and people of North Vietnam. I do feel sorrow about the fate of the South Vietnamese (and yes I know the difference has been erased, however we are talking about a past time not the current).

@chithiennguyen1371 I am talking about the government officials, military members and their families some killed in the city like the milItary governor`s household, international civilians not affiliated with either the US and South Vietnamese Government. Then there are those who were marched out of the city who were never seen again. I know of one mass grave that was found, where the people had been shot and buried while some were still alive according to the autopsy reports. So, missing that were identified were in the thousands. The decision to fight it out in the city was made by the communists hoping to spark a National rebellion that didn't occur. The TET Offensive so the destruction of the Viet Cong, after that it was primarily NVA fighting in the South. You sound like a good little communist shill.

@chithiennguyen1371 How many civilians did the Viet Cong/NVA assassinate, plac de in harms way by hiding among them, or just plain kill as collateral damage during their attacks? I suspect that directly or indirectly the "brave" freedom fighters killed as many or more of the South zvietnamese. By the way, how many died o n re-education camps after South Vietnam fell in 1975, how many fled (many dying at sea trying to flee? I suspect that isn't something that you wish to talk about.

@chithiennguyen1371 I knew some of the refugees from the South, and I knew some of our POWs who returned. I know facts that disagree with some of yours. I have read the unclassified CIA debrief documents that covered the debriefing of South Vietnamese, Cambodian, and Laotian officials, and I suspect we can never agree. I was in SEA when our casualty recover flights, agreed to as part of the Paris Accords came back with wounded and dead from ground fire despite their presence for body recovery allowed in the accords; so sorry, I have a very different view of the communist side. My opinion of that leadership and its actions won't change, as I expect yours won't hang as well. I have no strong feelings about the current Vietnamese leadership, and we are talking about the past. The future is still occurr8ng; but as long as a side refuses to acknowledge its behavior, and we have, there will be friction.

@chithiennguyen1371 Sorry, but not all were Chinese, and even if they of that ethnic origin, they had been citizens of South Vietnam. Are you suggesting, that like Pol Pot in Cambodia disposing of none Cambodians, that the then United government of Vietnam wanted them to leave one way or another? I am not saying that Vietnam ran "killing field" like Cambodia; just that the Vietnamese government wanted ethnic purity.

@chithiennguyen1371 8n this country that is called racist. For example my wife is Japanese, one of my brother-in-laws was Black and another was Native American, and my brother's wife is of Mexican ancestry. We all share essentially the same culture with minor differences, so ancestry doesn't matter.
