I study war, and the more that I dug about this particular one; the more I realized the Republicans actually were anything but Republican or about human rights.

@winterrising8738 Can you say what the book's basic premise is? The title can represent 3ither sides point of view, since both side thought it was struggling to preserve something it vaued.

The Red Cross was brought in after the Spanish Civil War to investigate the situation. It found that there were 80,000 war crimes were committed by the Republicans against 50,000by the Nationalists. So, which was more evil? The bombing of Guernecia(sp?) Is listed as an atrocity; but ignores it was a chock point for supplies going to the front, something that made it a legitimate target because of military supplies moving through the town. We can comment on bombing civil areas being used for military purposes and question it? However, it was not a terror attack against a civilian populace; but rather an attack on a military target.
