Many of those ethnic Russians in other ethnic areas are there be cause of Soviet population redistribution; with forced deportation of unfriendly populations and action of ethnic Russians imported. By the way, part of the Caucasus were Turkish in the 1800s, parts of Iran fell to Imperial Rusxia in the 1800s; and finally, much of the Ukrainian and and Eastern Russia had belonged to the Polish-Lithuanisn Commonwealth, the remnants of which vanished when the Holy Roman Empire (later called the Austro-Hungarian Empire after it last most of the German ststes), Prussia and Imperial Russia divided Poland in the late 1600's. As an aside much of modern Poland was German territory before WW II while Russia took back the parts of Poland that it siezed in the 1600's.

  2. Here is another myopic pro-Russian and pro-PRC view. The PRC is in trouble with their economy, with major bankruptcy facing the real estate giants (where a huge portion of the PRC economy exists), a major airline is almost bankrupt, their high speed rail is running at a loss, and their stock market is over priced. So neither has a current strong economy. Worse the PRC claims portions of the Russian Far East. My question is if Moscow is too obsessed and involved in the Ukraine will the PRC view an attack on a weakened Russia easier than cross strait attack on Taiwan.

  5. The British were supporting one side in a civil war. It ignored the role of British politica officers. The British tried to change the culture. It than alienated most of the population. Essentially this repeated main the 1880s. Does it sound similar to our actions during the last st 20 years.

  7. Now we are faced with propaganda why the Russian Federationshould exist. Soviet Russia was the same state as Imperial Russia,which took much of its Central Asia during the 1800s. It had taken land from China and Japan prior to that, just asparts of Western Russia was conquered after Ivan the Terrible was Tsar.
