  2.  Sirius Stark Al Ghul  science is a higher order good, that means it's far removed from satisfying people's immediate needs. Religion acts as a stabilizing and unifying force in a society creating agreed-upon values and norms. Without religion, by that I mean it system by which actions in the world are deemed as good or bad, it's Society will have no stability and without stability it will never get far enough away from immediate survival to concern itself with science.
