  1. I had a thing, (once), that looked like a plug socket, but was full of metal needles. - you dropped it over the stud, and no matter which way it was turned, it gripped and removed said stud. Not so certain it'd work on horrid soft alloy.

  4. Nasty crimped el-cheapo manufacturing. Unreliable and unrepairable is bad enough, but when you can't even remove the dud ones? I'd be less than happy.
