  1. I totally agree - use surge protectors, disconnecting the battery/batteries, the ECU, the alternator, and so-on. If it's electrical and plugged in, unplug it. Mig welders have a nasty habit of trashing anything electrical or electronic, the costing the shop mucho dinero to repair damaged components destroyed by voltage spikes and so forth. And it doesn't always happen immediately, so protect yourself.

  2. All you people complaining about Ray's welding are full of shit. He fixed the problem, and while it may be a bit of an agricultural repair, it worked, and saved $2K.
