  2. Yep. As many as you can look after, IMHO. However, in NZ and Australia, there is a movement to keep them indoors 24/7. Sucks. If the native birds aren't fast enough, then I think they're probably fair game. I had 3 cats, down to one, due to natural attrition, sadly, and they never brought birds home, but they brought in some humongous rats from the river down at the end of the property. And they don't bark all day when I;m trying to sleep after a night shift. My remaining one sleeps on my head. Bit of a hassle, but I'm adjusting...

  3. My surviving cat is feral - got him as a kitten, and he ripped the vet to bits, and he was only about six inches long. The cat, not the vet.. Unhappy vet. Cat only trusts me and two friends, and then it's debatable, depending on the lad's state of mind. Still gets under the blankies with me when he isn't sleeping on my head. Every cat responds to kindness.

  4. Cats are generally better than people. Plus, they don't attack people walking the streets, and they don't bark all the time.
