  1.  @joke_d  I am Polish and I am sick and tired of cold war era vocabulary. Many young Polish people do not even remember what it was like to live under soviet rules and it is so unfair to always look at them throught 1945-1989 period. It's just a brief period of time but it does not define Poland as a whole. We do not speak russian here, we do not use cyrilics, we don''t live in caves and we have never been a part of USSR as a country. We consider ourselves Central Europeans. We are in the middle.

  4.  @Ray_Vun  oland, Chech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary do not speak russian, they do not use crilics, they have defferent religious background. They have little in common with Belarus. They have never been a part of USSR as a country. 45 years of being occuppied by USSR (they did not ask for it) did not make them soviet for ever and ever.

Many of them improved so much over last 30 years and it's unfair not to notice it. I was in Greece 3 times in my iife. Great country but I don't have a feeling it's much better place to live than Slovenia, Czech Republic, Estonia or Poland in terms of standard of living.

  8. Cold war era is over. And it pisses me off when people in the West can not see any difference between Estonia and Belarus for example. They were both parts of USSR as a country but they are both on different level now. Poland is different than Ukraine for example. Diffferent religion, language, alphabeth and so on.

  10. It's called former for a reason. Stop looking at other countries through USSR 's eyes. USSR is gone, cold war era is gone and all those countries had much more to offer. Cold war era was only 45 years old gap in their history. Germany was partly on the wrong side of the Iron courtain but nobody in right mind describes it as "Eastern",

  23. Stop looking at Eastern Europe through Cold war era period Estonia is much different tha Poland. Poland is different than Belarus. Hungary is different than Ukraine.
