If your country borders Russia neutrality is like an invitation for Russia "feel free to invade because we are powerless and nobody would come to help us". Nato is an excuse. Ukraine had no chance to join Nato. Putin wants Ukraine and he blames his victims for calling the police. Putin invaded because he could. He has always wanted Ukraine back. If it was about Nato, why didn't he invade Finland or Poland? Because he wants Ukraine. Ukraine was neutral when Putin invaded. He knew he could invae non Nato neighbor only. Nato is an excuse, not a reason. It is about Putin's legacy. Why didn't Russia respect Budapest Memorandum? Who does Russia think it is. USSR it gone. Get over it.
