USA is a good neighbor and American president did not try to make it a part of USA, did not claim "it is not a real country" unlike Putin and Ukraine's case so your whatabautism is invalid here. Ukraine is not even Nato member and had zero chance to join. Putin invaded because he could invade non Nato Ukraine only. He did it because he could. Nato is not a reason. Putin's sick idea of restoring russian empire was.
