  1.  @GaIaxee  Exactly. Western Europeans look at Poland through current Polish government and its acts but they have no clue how split and devided Poland in fact is. Poland is a land of paradox. What government does is one thing. What people feel, what they think and how they act is often exactly the opposite. It is hard to explain to someone from abroad. Governments do change. Wait till October.

  5. Baltic States were soviet republics, parts of former USSR , the same as Ukraine, Belarus or Russia. But they are both EU and Nato members now and western oriented countries

  6. I know but Latvia.Lithuania and Estonia were parts of USSR, the same as Ukraine or Belarus. Countries like Poland, Hungary or Chechia were not. These were separate states forced to live under soviet influence but they have never been soviet republics. They were soviet satelite states, not soviet republics
