@German-hv9nv USSR collapsed because it was weak and its economy was in terrible shape. Russia as a bad neighbour is not a matter of propaganda. It is a matter of own experience of most Eastern Europeans. Warsaw pact was the only alliance to invade its own members when they wanted to leave that "soviet paradise". Nato does not invite any country to joi!. You need to apply and all other Nato members need to agree to let you in. It is not that easy what you could see with Sweden' s case, Who is Russia and why should we care about its sensitive feelings and "red lines"? It is not Eastern Europe's master anymore. Putin hates Nato because he can not invade or annex Nato members. It is like blaming Russia's victims for calling the police. Russia does not own Eastern Europe! Putin wants Ukraine to be a part of Rusia. Nato is an excuse, not a reason. Ukraine had no chance to join Nato. Both France and Germany did not agree. Putin invaded because he could invade non Nato Ukraine only and he thought it would be easy to annex. He wants Ukraine. Russia can not stand USSR is gone and its glory is over.

@German-hv9nv Nato does not expand by force unlike Warsaw pact. If Russia was a good neighbour, many former Warsaw pact countries would have no need to join Nato in order to be secured.

@German-hv9nv I am tired of "understanding Russia" crap. Russia never cared for Eastern Europe's feelings so we owe Russia nothing. War in Ukraine is not about Nato. It is about Putin's greed and legacy. He wants Ukraine. Russophobia is irrational fear. If Russia repeats its nuke threats every other monday is it not "irrational" fear. We trust it.

@German-hv9nv Cheap gas station with Italy's gdp has no red lines. It has excuses to justify its crimes and greed only. Putin wants russian empire back and he needs Ukraine as a part of it. He wants Ukraine. Ukranians do not want it and that is all I care about. Russia "never behaved that way"? OH REALLY? Russia never respected Eastern European nations, their will, their freedom, their right to decide about their fate on their own so we owe Russia nothing.
