Russia does not own Eastern Europe. USSR is gone. Russian nukes must be as poor as russian army in Ukraine. This war was never about Nato. Nato is an excuse for Putin. Ukraine had no chance to join Nato in the neares future. Nato does not want countries with territorial problems as its members (that is why Putin pays separatists in Donbas for years).All Putin can do is to invade non Nato country. This war is about Putin's ego and sick idea to annex Ukraine.
