@Kabodanki Other country's pact choice is none of Russia's decission. Ukraine had no chance to join Nato anyway. Nato is an excuse for Putin, not a reason. He wants Ukraine as a part of Russia and Putin could invade non Nato Ukraine only. It is like blaming a victim for calling the police. If Russia does not like Nato at her borders maybe Russia should stop giving countries reasons to join. If Russia was a good neighbour, there would be no need to oin nato in order to be secured. Ukraine had no ill to join Nato before 2014.

Nato is an excuse for Putin. If Ukraine had been in Nato, Putin would have not invaded it. Putin invaded because he could. He wants Ukraine as a part of Russia.

Besides, American president did not say anything like "Cuba is not a real country" while Putin does not want Ukraine and its culture to exist.
