@micbear9334 Eastern Europe is not russian backyard. Blaming Nato expansio is like blaming a victim for calling the police because she did not want to be hurt anymore. Putin wants Ukraine and he could invade non Nato Ukraine only.

USSR was Hitler's ally till 1941 and invaded Poland together with Nazi Germany in september 1939. They even had victory parade together. For Poland and most of Eastern Europe Soviets were no better than Nazis.

Ukraine has no nukes, Ukraine had no chance to join Nto. Nato is an excuse for utin. He simply wants Ukraine and he could invade non Nato Ukraine only. USA did not want to annex Cuba and did not claim "it is not a real country" so your point is invalid.

@jackofswords7 My country's own history with Russia and USSR is more than enough. Russia simply keeps invading and annexing with every stupid excuse it can find. Nato is an excuse Putin could invade non Nato Ukraine only. It is about his sick legacy and his huge ego. Russians love JM for a reason. He is still stucked in Cold War era when Eastern Europeans had no voice.

Putin wants Ukraine because he wants russian empire back. Nato is nor a reason. Nato is an excuse for Putin.

Russia simply loves annexing and making mess in Eastern Europe with every excuse possible and JM never cared for Russia's neghbours, their voice, their freedom and their agenda in all of this. He is stucked in Cold War era. Eastern Europe moved on. It is not Russia's backyard anymore. They owe Russia nothing. Russia trolls love him for a reason.
