USSR and Germany had a treaty to invade Poland in september 1939 and that is exactly what they did. They invaded Poland from both sides What you call russophobia Poles call "being russoexperienced". We owe Russia nothing. For many Poles Soviets were no better than Germans. Germany has learnt its lesson. Russia stll acts as if we owed them something. Russia does not learn.

Nato is at Russia's borders for decades (Poland, Lithuania Finland, and Alaska). Did Putin wake up yesterday? No.He invaded Ukraine because he has always wanted Ukraine back. He invaded because he could.

Being Warsaw pact member was made by foce and Warsaw pact was the only aliance to invade its own members when they were tired of "soviet paradise". Putin hates Nato because he can not face article 5 and invade as much as he would like to. He has always wanted Ukraine back.

Every former Warsaw pact member country knows it. Nato is not a reason why Putin invaded. It is an excuse. Putin invaded Ukraine because he coould and wanted to. He has always wanted Ukraine back as a part of Russia. He can not get over USSR collapse. He does not consider Uraine to be "a real country". Russia always feels "provoked" and blames others for her own failures and crimes. Ukraine's existence and independence itself is "provocation" for Putin.

Finland joined, Sweden joined BECAUSE Putin invaded non Nato Ukraine. If Russia does not like her neighbours joining Nato, Russia should try and stop giving them good reasons to join in the first place.
