Article 5 of Nato was invoked once because USA did ask for it. European allies were there for USA and did not send an invoice to Washington.

There was no need to stay in Afghanistan any longer. It had nothng to do with win or lose. How is 3 days special operation going? Who does Russia think it is? Second best army in Ukraine, that is for sure.

@eddastrohmayer251 If your country borders Russia neutrality means "being powerless" and "Putin, feel free to invade and grab more because nobody would help us". Putin wants Ukraine and he knows he can invade non Nato Ukraine only. Austria is like a leech because it is surrounded by other Nato members.

@The_Engineerr Nato does not expand by force ulike Warsaw pact. Countries apply to join and Russia should ask herself why so many Eastern European countries joine Nato as quicly as they could. If Russia was a good neighbor with no record of making mess there would be no need to ask for Nato membership. Nato is an excuse for Putin. He wants Ukraine and he knew he could invade non Nato neighbor only. If Russia does not like Nato at her borders Russia should try and stop giving countries like Ukraine reasons to join. Ukraine is not in Nato and had no will to join before 2014, it had no chance to join after 2014 because of unsolved border issues. Putin got what he wanted. He invaded anyway just because he could and he thought it would be easy to overrun non Nato Ukraine. He was wrong.

Joining Nao was a choice while being Warsaw pact member was not. It was made by force and Warsaw pact was the only alliance to invade its own members when they tried to leave that soviet "paradise".
