  1. Poland has never been soviet republic. It was soviet satelite state but is has never been a part of USSR as a country unlike Ukraine, Belarus or Baltic states. Poland has always been a separate state with its own borders, flag national anthem and pollitical leaders (puppets of Moscow but still separate), just like East Germany, Chechoslovakia, Hungary Romania or Bulgaria. .  @tzrider....7586

  2. It was Soviet Union which invaded Poland on 17th of september 1939, just 17 days after Nazi Germany. Hitler and Stalin had a pact to split Poland which they in fact did. It was USSR which committed Katyn Massacre of 22 000 Polish people in 1940. That is for sure. For many Poles USSR was no better than nazis. USSR had nothing to offer exept for poverty and lack of freedom for decades to come after WWII.  @LIfeSavingFlame

Poland has never been soviet republic because it has never been a part of USSR as a country unlike Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. Poland was soviet satelite state forced to live under Moscow's comands but it was still separate state with its own borders, flag, anthem and political leaders (puppets byut still separate). The same as Chechoslovakia or East Germany. I agree with all the rest you wrote.
