@jameschristenbury2625 Russia was is and will be imperialistic. They don't know any better. Eastern Europe moved on. Russia is always stucked in the past. Putin has always wanted Ukraine back. He does not even consider Ukraine to be "real". He calls Ukrainians "little Russians". Ukraine had no will to join Nato before 2014 (Putin annexed Crimea in 2014) and had no chance to join Nato after 2014 because of unsolved border issues. Putin invaded anyway because he wants Ukraine and he wants new world order. He can not stand USSR is gone. If Ukraine had been in Nato, he would have not invaded. Nato is an excuse. It is about Putin's greed and Putin's ego. It is about his sick legacy. Russia has never been a friendly neighbor, with or without Putin, with or without Nato. Blamng Russia's neighbors for joning Nato is like blaming a victim for calling the police because she did not want to be hurt anymore. My country of Poland joined Nato in 1999 because of our terrible 300 years experience with Russia. We knew Russia would come back to make some mess one day and we were right. Polish president said back in 2008 standing in front of Tibilisi crowd during Georgian Russian war "Today Georgia, tomorrow Ukraine (!!!), the day after that Baltic States and later it may be my country of Poland". Nobody listened to Poland's warnings. We heard we were oversensitive and russophobic. We are russoexperienced. Trump is not.

@jameschristenbury2625 Russia has always been like that. That is why so many former soviet satelite states joined Nato as qucily as they could. To be secured. We knew Putin would invade Ukraine. We have been warning for years and we heard we are "ruusohobic" . We were right. We simply know Russia and did not even ask for it. 300 years of experience.
