  1. In the years before coronavirus came along, I wonder how many people who self diagnosed themselves with having the 'flu' actually went and got tested for influenza? I wonder how many actually self isolated? How many struggled to work or to the shops knowing they would probably pass it on to someone else? I imagine a majority of people were motivated to get vaccinated against influenza to protect themselves, more so than any thought about anyone else. I know I did. I'll take a guess as to who actually got tested for influenza as those already being hospitalised and who were probably suffering from some other pre-existing condition like diabetes. Considering that Australia alone had 214,377 cases of influenza (actually diagnosed) and 486 deaths in 2019, you wonder why we weren't more concerned.
