It should be remembered that although we don't particularly agree with China's claims of legitimate sovereignty over Taiwan, they are not actually an adversary and it's unlikely that RAAF (or RAF) pilots will meet in air to air combat. As far as the RAF is concerns there has been plausible concerns about the recruitment policy which discriminates (in the name of diversity) against white males when applying for flying careers and promotion in the air force. No doubt this will erode a sense of loyalty that pilots have towards their employer. Dangle half a million dollars in front of an underpaid, undervalued university qualified elite combat pilot and see what happens!
