It's understandable that police these days carry a lot more 'kit' than the traditional whistle and truncheon, but a lot of them do look more like gang members with their tattoos, half grown beards and funny haircuts. I notice that quite a few of the women (in particular) apart from being ridiculously small to be effective in any physical way, are also overweight. I live in Queensland, Australia and things like wearing head cover or clean shoes seems to be abandoned. Having said that, I should point out that my personal dealings with the police have all been positive.
