  1. When I started secondary school in England at the age of eleven in the sixties , I enrolled in the school boxing team and soon became quite competitive. A few years later my family moved to Malta and I attended a school administered by the Royal Navy. To my great disappointment, they had abandoned any such activity. It was probably a case of not having a teacher willing or able to devote the time and effort into what was an extra curricula activity, but I always thought it was a shame.
