History Debunked

Comments by "JamesT" (@Parawingdelta2) on "Why do the Russians have such a problem with Ukraine? The historical background helps us understand" video.
Certain quarters in Ukraine and NATO countries have made it abundantly clear that they've had a desire to weaken Russia for some years now. For Putin to sit back and do nothing about the obvious hostile intent would be his downfall. The World Economic Forum in Davos has a Ukraine pavilion highlighting the atrocities of the Russian military in contrast to Ukraine being the bastion of democracy. Does anyone know where I can buy a bag of magic beans?

@tonymccaul7159 Regrettably, I've become desensitised to the plight of people caught up in the many conflicts which have been almost omnipresent over the last fifty years. I do however have a deep distrust of the western mainstream media and the hypocrisy of governments, the moral vacuum of military suppliers and the duplicity of people who reap the benefit of investing in such companies. There is a disturbed mindset at play here which has little to do with the defence of democracy.

@phoenixobrien163 I must admit, I can't now name names but even if you don't accept that, you must surely see that all the 'movement' towards building up a strategic position in embracing former Soviet countries is fairly obvious. The flat lands from the Northern European plains stretching from Belgium, Germany, Poland to the Russian border along with the Eastern European Plains from the Arctic to the Black Sea and as far East as the Urals (via Ukraine) is an ideal scenario (used before) for large forces to reach Moscow. Now this may not seem likely to you or many others, but as far as a strategic defence concern for their military it would appear of some concern. When the 'cold war' finished NATO agreed that they would not try and induct former Soviet countries into their fold and basically that's all they've done since that time. I'm guessing everyone thinks that the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan by NATO forces was a good thing filled with humanitarian good intent?
