  1. I live in Queensland, Australia and a short drive from where I live, there's a section of clear open beach stretching uninterrupted for thirty kilometres. I was allowed to go to the local 'off licence' and walk amongst dozens of strangers (we call them bottle shops) but would be fined for walking alone on the beach with someone with whom I share a bed (my wife to be clear). Never again!
