  1. I have a distrust of just about all religions; particularly those who are very focused on doctrines which inhibit personal freedoms and afflict severe punishments for non compliance. Islam seems to be quite prominent in this area. These doctrines appear to be a mindless effort to somehow placate or appease a God, who for some reason get's upset if (for example) a woman shows her face or drives a car. Even the more benign representations of religion like the mild mannered vicar peddling his bicycle through the streets of an old English village with it's rows of thatched roofed houses has a dormant yet despicable past with the potential to re-emerge in a way that's not so endearing.
