Is it really just about a line in the sand? Does Putin really think that if Ukraine has a military alliance with western countries it poses more of a threat simply because of it's proximity? I get the feeling that there's more to it than that. There's big money to be made (by some) in war. Essentially financed by the taxpayers who bankroll the 'sporting event' for big business to make money from the hot dog and beer sales.
