  1. Many years ago, I was working as a street cleaner in an area of an Australian city which had a high degree of ethnic diversity. As I swept the gutters, I saw a twenty dollar note fall otherwise unnoticed from the pocket of a man sitting on a nearby bench. I picked it up and made the man aware he had dropped it. He seemed to be of mediterranean origin and thanked me but added the return of the money to him would not have happened in his country.
