Politicians in Britain have failed the British people to the point of being treasonable. To have allowed this to go on for so long is criminal. Off shore detention (with all it's potential human rights issues) is the best way to stop the influx. If they know they won't be put up in hotels, given free houses and other financial benefits they'll stop coming virtually straight away. One of the few things Australia got right.
