Many years ago I seem to recall being made of the fact that in Russia (may have been the USSR at that time) that doctors were mainly women and were paid about the same as (or less than) a male lorry driver. I thought what a strange world they live in. With that and everything else Russia doesn't seem to be quite so......you know; whatever it is that we're not supposed to like Russia for these days.
