I'm pleased to say that my father was a Royal Air Force Air Traffic Controller for over twenty five years. However I'm not totally convinced about the validity of the test with geometric figures. I knew a fellow who was highly intelligent; literally got 100% results (and I'm not kidding) in mathematics tests, went on to university and had a career as a teacher. However, in an engineering drawing class, he could not understand that if you looked at a disc (say a coin) face on and tilted it away from you (or towards you, (it doesn't matter) that the vertical height decreases. So if you did a drawing from that perspective you would have an ellipse. He was actually convinced it appeared to get taller! I'd be interested in how the Welsh did in the tests. Just asking for a friend.
