  1. I suppose it depends on whether the cause of the engine failure was known and enabled the pilots to eliminate the possibility of the same thing happening with any of the others. I'll bet they were watching those instruments and listening for any odd noises in that stretch over the ocean. Overall I think it's 'slippery slope' when there's an acceptance that economy has a priority over safety.
