It's hard for most people (I think) to get their head around how exactly AI would manifest itself in a way that it has a gain of function which get's out of control and becomes a threat to humans. We've all seen 'Terminator' but recognise that as entertainment only. Having said that' it's surprising how things that are seemingly just another step from what we have, evolve into something completely different. A mobile phone was more or less just the same as the phone in your house, except you could take it with you. Look how that within a few decades it's completely changed the way we live. I'd have to correct Elon on one thing though. I use to drive buses (in Australia) and I think the intelligence level comparison between humans and chimpanzees is still up for debate.

  2. I must admit, I don't fully grasp the whole concept of modern day communism other than the basic principles of Marxism and of course the tyranny of various leaders. However, when you look at the track record of "democracy" over the last two years, it makes you wonder. Winston Churchill said (paraphrasing) "The best argument against democracy is a five minute conversation with the average voter".

When all this started I formed the opinion that we were not being told the truth and that governments and mainstream media were in collusion in coercing, manipulating and using undue pressure to control the population. Almost nobody I know shared my opinion. Then all the smart people of the world articulated exactly what I was thinking. I can't be as dumb as my school reports would seem to suggest.
