I think it's worth noting that Nigel Farage resonates with a lot (millions) of people who are not all completely stupid. Some inevitably look to Reform as an alternative to the treachery bestowed on the British people over the last few decades. The problem Farage faces is how to fight and win without scheming and bending the rules. When Howard Hughes faced a senate subcommittee and was challenged about his practice of 'courting' politicians for favourable outcomes by wining and dining them etc, he freely admitted that was true and would cease the practice as soon as Pan Am and the other airlines did the same.
