I'm not sure I follow the "Investing in these countries to stop them leaving" concept. It's quite reasonable to assume that improving the standard of living in developing countries is a positive thing but why should that be a burden that the British people should bear to stop what esssentially is an invasion of predominantly young men with questionable intent? Why is Britain constantly being asked to address the shortcomings of other nations and just assume that being 'nicer' is the solution? Let's not forget that these people aren't leaving 'their' countries; their leaving France! Does make you wonder why the illegals are leaving a EU country when Britain is falling to pieces because of Brexit. You'd think it would be the other way around.
