There seems to be a couple of issues which rarely seem to be mentioned in regard to the war in Ukraine. Firstly, the question of why member states of NATO feel obliged to offer support to Ukraine which isn't a member of NATO and as far as I know has no military alliances with NATO countries. I think we can reasonably discount western governments doing it because "it's the right thing to do". They've frequently demonstrated their proclivity to do exactly the wrong thing to do as a result of corruption and financial gain. Could it be that despite their net zero aims they's still worried about access to the immense gas and oil reserves there? Secondly, any inclination to even consider a negotiated peace or 'least worse option' seems completely absent. Meanwhile the circling birds of prey in the form of Goldman Sachs , JP Morgan and Black Rock wait to pick at the carcasses when it's over.
