My son could well have died due to a failure of correct diagnosis. When he was in hospital, I was stressing to the doctor that something more than just 'pumping' him up with potassium and sending him back home, to collapse on the floor a day or so later. In my attempt to converse with the doctor, our conversation was being drowned out by shrieks of laughter from a group of nurses. I love to laugh, but I hate that phoney group 'laugh out loud, look at me I'm having fun' thing.

@anjou6497 I've got no particular opinion on nurses. My youngest daughter has recently become a nurse after serving 18 years in the Royal Australian Air Force (still on reserve). My issue was the lack of discipline instilled into these nurses so ensure a high degree of decorum in the wards.

@anjou6497 It boils down to the supervision and discipline exercised by senior nursing staff. I doubt if they still call them 'matrons' now, but they were like the regimental sergeant majors of the hospital that all the young doctors used to avoid like the plague.
