Regardless of any partisan leanings people should hope (maybe naively) that whoever is in government will do what is best for the nation as a whole. However, I think it's a big mistake to totally rely on government for your own future. Statesmanlike speeches made with subliminal messages to remind us of the past is not particularly inspiring. Listening to promises which traditionally are rarely fulfilled is just a waste of time. Probably more important to see if they do things that they said they wouldn't.
