  1. When people use the term " it's obvious," they're intimating that's it's obvious to them, and it should be obvious to everyone else. Politicians begin a statement with the word "clearly" to suggest that there's no room for contradiction in what they say. When people say "I'm sure," I turned the stove off, it means they're not sure at all. All pretty obvious, really.
