  1. What does one do? My personal experience is that banks are the least problematic people to deal with. In dealing with the rest, I just become as bigger pain in the arse as I possibly can. I never extend anything but courtesy and respect to those on the 'front line', but make my expectations clear and document everything. Last year I had a mobile phone that failed one week prior to its warranty expiry date replaced with a new phone despite some degree of resistance.
