  1. I think that seeing the old ways of communication as being better and more reliable is rather looking through rose coloured glasses a bit. We still have the redundancy of two means of communicating, although I think most people have abandoned land line phones these days. I can still remember having to stand in a queue at a public phone box in the rain to eventually stand in a puddle of urine and talk into a tobacco scented handset. While we're RIP'ing Alexander Graham Bell, let's not forget our own (co-inventor) Joseph Swan.

  2.  @ProfessorTimWilson  On one of my return visits to London (Victoria Station) from Australia, I was surprised to discover you still had to put a coin in the slot to use the cubicles.
