  1. I use to manage an operation involving over one hundred employees who worked on a combination of fixed and rotating shifts over a twenty-four hour, seven-day operational week. Each shift complied with a nine-day fortnight working week with three days off each fortnight. They had generous penalty rates for working at different times and varying conditions along with unlimited sick leave subject to a rehabilitation program. I don't think I've heard such a simplistic ill-considered analysis of the reality experienced at work or home by many workers.
