When I grew up in the fifties and early sixties, we use to visit relatives in Norwich and going to Yarmouth was the highlight of the holidays. In 1968, I actually worked at a holiday camp there. It's tragic to see these old places run down. I lived near Newquay in Cornwall and my first return visit from Australia after fifty years left me rather 'neutral' on the place. Stayed in great hotel on the cliff tops but even that's gone since we were there in 2014. Padstow was quite the reverse. Use to be a sleepy little fishing village; now look at it. The influence of Rick Stein I believe.
