  7. The stock market measures the Health of a Business. If a business is making a PROFIT then the stock goes up(many businesses going up means the stock market rises as the value of the company goes up. So, if you want to share in the ride upwards of the company , you buy stocks at the price they are selling at. A high demand in the stocks means the stock prices also increase...as everyone is trying to grab a ride on this business as it moves upward. We do not know WHY the business is doing so good - you really got to look into its finances to figure it out. Maybe they have a new product and it is selling like hotcakes. (or maybe they automated, so laid off many workers which lowers its employee expense as machines do not need rest, or wages, or holidays and can do the work of 5 workers better than the employees can (for the cost of a bit of electricity and a dab of grease) and it NEVER MAKES A MISTAKE. Initial cost of installation was high but 20 units displaced 100 employees(and employee benefits & workers rights and heath benefits, etc. Maybe the workforce is now a staff of 4 to maintain the machines. The machines do not go on holidays and work 24/7/365 with no smoke breaks. Heating the building can also be reduced...and a smaller work area. . This would cause the value of the company to go up because it has less expenses. Less chance of worker disruption. . Then we have seen that the tax breaks Trump gave to the rich, they bought their own stock back(which raises the value of the stock because "someone is buying it" and everyone else tries to jump on early and pay a HIGHER price for the stock. . The owners could have taken the tax windfall and raised the wages of the workers working for him now, or expand his operations and hire more people(employing more people) - What they did instead is invest it in themselves so they make more money without doing anything to benefit his employees...or future work force of the US. . The stock could also nose-dive and the first ones to know that is going to happen is the owners. They are the first ones to sell out their stock shares so they end up with a lot of money. The other schleps who invested into this company, will lose all their money. . The stock market is very much like the one arm bandits in VEGAS. The ones who really make the money is the buyers& sellers of stock as they always take a commission. aka the stock markets. Joe Population does not see a benefit to whether the stock market goes up or goes down. Not really. You have to have extra money to gamble with(money you are willing to lose)

  8. Exactly. Insuance companies are the paper pushers, the Middle man who handles the money and pockets some for himself (because he is handling money) The INSURANCE COMPANY IS NOT NEEDED. They are a for profit operation who managed to squeeze in there to make it sound you cannot have medical treatment UNLESS YOU GET INSURANCE FROM THEM. Cut them out of the picture and you pay the doctor directly(well almost, as a government insurance plan is NOT A FOR PROFIT BUSINESS..it is there to serve you.

The only difference is the owner does not make as much money as fast (but still fast enough because more people can afford to buy his product . So if he was going 100MPH on increasing his wealth, he has slowed down to 80MPH on the rate of increase. BFD!

  15. Changes will happen. It is called fully automated so they don't need ANY workers. I was amazed to see people working in the plant. They have automated the automotive section, fruit picking off the trees in the orchards are done by machines now, fruit sorting in packing houses are automated, retail stores are trying to get people to use the automated cash registers. I won't because I spent a lot of money there so THEY CAN DO THE FLUCKING WORK AT THE END IF THEY WANT MY MONEY.

  24. @Salmon Bartering has a value. Lets say you are a carpenter. You build kitchen cabinets for a Painter. You and the Painter work out a trade value for services you have rendered. Say the painter has to paint the house completely. No money has changed hands. . But the government KNOWS A VALUABLE SERVICE WAS RENDERED. So they want a "piece of that pie" which comes in the form of taxation. They put a value on those trades by the average wage happening in your area...and that is the value assigned to your work. That is where they get the numbers. Cryptocurrency has an initial value. When a profit is made on it (a greater value=A GAIN FOR YOU) or a Loss is set on it , if you lose money. You bought Cryptocurrency at a certain price. If you lost on your investment then you write off the loss against your other income. It works out better than playing slot machines in Vegas as it is all Loss. & you can't write it off.

When I was in school(I am a "boomer") racial injustices was never taught (except those against the Japanese who were residents here before PH) Those that lived on the west coast were stuffed into the interior 500 miles away from the coast to start a new life. They had nice garden yards (that were taken over by the Chinese) and the Japanese did not receive and compensation for the lands they lost. They had to start again...in wilderness country. Through hard work they managed to grow orchards of fruit trees & other nurseries of plants. No mention is made of the native indigenous people and the lands TAKEN FROM THEM. It is like they never existed. Only later when they got organized and a voice does the government recognize their rightful claim to the lands, so millions of $ in settlement came about. That is it. No more info than that. . Back in the boomer days there were no guy-girls or girl-guy types. . Blame medical science and experimentations.
