2 strokes rely on sparks from spark plug. They would never have high enough compression to ignite diesel. Diesel is not that oily so you would seize the motor.

@Cole_42 Diesels(anything after 1950) have Glow plugs, so there would be pre ignition knocking before the piston reached TDC hammering the piston backwards. It basically destroys the engine. Those up north mix some gas in with diesel, but if it is 50/50, yah, that motor is toast. Very expensive lesson. Up north the gas stations get kerosene in their diesel tanks(their location says when they get it automatically. They never change the diesel signage. Kero is the fuel for diesel engines. Kero is also the fuel used in high flying jet engine as the air temp is -40F because the fuel does not jell up in the fuel lines or in the tanks. Power output is about the same.
