Sure you get a second chance. Though had you been using the right size Robertson you would not strip it. The second chance is a flat blade that fits in extreme corner to extreme corner. Most times if the screw is that tight either the screw breaks off or the screwdriver tip breaks off.

That is what a file is for. To make the screwdriver the right size

@666cowboy69 I read your post. There is no Impact screwdriver bit using Robertson. Mainly because Robertson are Wood screws, not machine screws. Machine screws means metal and rusted into position. Not on any car at any time.. Though, look at your socket ratchet. That is a square head much like a Robertson screw(with 4 corners). Mechanic 40+years

When camming out on a robertson, you can use a flat blade that fit kitty corner together and back out the screw , then turf it for a new one... or use a philips screwdriver and hammer it into the square to get out the Robertson. It can be done. Damaged Philips screws can also be taken out with a Robertson that is impacted in making the hole square. Robertson cams out when you use the wrong size screwdriver(there are 3 sizes noted by colored handles (green=smallest, red=medium size, black =large size) Torx is just a pita because I use a mixture of the 3 screwdrivers to get it out then replace it with a phillips head screw as those have machine threads (for metal)
