Really, they need a Basic car course in school for 1 month that deals with the simple stuff. How to Check the oil level before you start the car. How to Check for coolant . How to check what else that is important No need to know about car computers, but know how to LOOK & SEE & HEAR & SMELL. What is normal and what is not normal. With THAT KNOWLEDGE UNDER YOUR BELT, many cars would not be sold as Runners when they are dying. You save money. Junk is junk. Less expectation in performing miracles ( " yea and I say it will rise again" in preacher tone of voice.) Nope, puppy is "D O A".

Refilling was interesting. First one at a time, then 2quarts at a time "would he do 3 at a time? He needs a special glove"

@learsisalotiv1625 1960 Buick Electra 225 was a sweet ride. Electric windows everywhere and everyone had a cigarette lighter. It was a boat yet my mom drove it around and parked it like a Honda Civic. She was good. Better than my dad. 750,000miles and car interior and exterior (black with tons of chrome) looked real sharp.

And it is always Lawyers too. (The legal thing they could attempt is put a lien on your business and you can't legally do any more work for ANYBODY. Meaning they shut off your cash flow. Anybody can do it. It costs $15 and you put a lien on their business.) They are the only ones that can take it OFF - - be glad THAT did not happen. . & Lawyers & Accountants are the ones passing off NSF checks. They have the money to go snow skiing and rent a chalet on the ski hill for 2 months(but their in town rental residence they are 6 months behind on rent. I thought Lawyers had "Reputations" they got to keep in good standing? Being always late on "their" rental payments is not a good look. & I was stuck in a hard place because you can't kick people out in the dead of winter(city or state bylaw) The lawyer knew it and was taking full advantage of it. I am just trying to make an honest buck on renting out a home. They are not a safe bet. Better to get a tenant that does not know the law that good. So happy when they moved out after making good on their final payment (I was starting to call the law firm he is a partner in and talking to some of his associates) That might have helped. . Here I call plastic laminate Arborite (because the first I got was from Arborite company) Yeah, superhard to stretch. Their only choice is a putting in a 32" piece that is totally a different color patch (kind of modern look planned that way) You know "NEXT TIME" for there will always be a next time. . sorry for the story.

Your vids teach a few things some of us don't know or have forgotten. Maybe the shop wanted some recognition so more people would visit it. It is always about the $.You never slighted the store. You did what you have been taught to do. "fix it right" unless instructed otherwise.

You did have a spare tire under the car you could have swapped it with. That way that tire gets used and your patch one can sit underneath until it is needed. Should it leak over the course of a year or 2 then the patch did not hold. Or they will have forgotten who you were.

Then again, there is the inner tube option(I had that on bias ply tires when bias ply was available - just supposing it would work for radial tires? Not knowing for sure.

It looks like soy milk or fake milk creamer.

So, with the steering vibration - nothing was done? Now he knows. It looks like he is slapping this car together for a quick sell. Makes you want to "Lock up the hood again, right?" Too much effort to do and they would notice if you arc welded it shut(sparks) I know you wanna. Gorilla glue works wonders...no stink, no one notices. (basically epoxy glue) But that takes effort. Not a "mechanic thing" to do.(it is in our blood to fix schit.) As it is, it will cost him MORE to buy good rotors and replace those (as he can't turn them without a brake lathe) and turn the rear drums to make them round. The car is safe...it could be safer but it is not what he wants. Why does it stall...he spent the money for a new motor when the problem is in the gas tank. where the fuel pump is. Let him do that work. There are more cars out there that are not POS to work on. You don't need this headache.

I always bench test the old starter (just because I wanna know "WHY" IT DON'T WORK NO more) I have Inquisitive mind. She was a diesel...then the starter motor should be stronger built." I know about laying in dirt. Shaky hands? I did not notice. All you need is one little rock pressing on the wrong nerve and you get the jitters. Not that it is detrimental, in fact it is advantageous for fitting for once it is in, then your hand steadies up as you are "connecting".

I don't know why I am watching you. I know how to do this.

I could tell it was a fuel pressure issue. Clogged fuel filter perhaps? Really depends what was replaced and(doing whole engine is quite extreme so in line filter back to tank or a banged up exposed fuel line so flow is restricted?

Was thinking while you were bumblefucking with taking out the alternator. "Designers are schitheads to mechanics. Was surprised you did not have to drop the motor to get the alternator out. It seems designers NEVER THINK the thing has to be fixed.

It's a diesel. Of course it burns oil. That is normal. Black engine oil is normal right after an oil change. I don't wear gloves so yeah it is soot black. I had 1M miles on my diesel. I kept records...as the odometer does 99,999.9 and then it would flip over to 00,000.0. Oil was black since new, and I changed oil every 5,000 miles.

FWD is fronts get new(actually they want all 4 tires replaced) I don't have to buy Michelins. I can buy "Sunny" tires made in China...as they are 1/3 the cost.

or use channel lock pliers with a rubber grip so not to mar the shaft.?

When it came to putting on the belt, I would have thought that the alternator is the last pulley as the alternator is the adjustable one. Yes? No? Old car technology? On old cars the Alternator was on one belt and the power steering was on a different belt. When LIFE "WAS SIMPLER".

I am confused. He gets in car and starts it first.? No mechanic does that. They first check the DIPSTICK. There is something in there but it is white not brown or black, but there is something so the car has to be pushed onto the lift and then the filler cap taken off and then the car lifted. Now drain the "oil". Because I don't have all day. But it seems he did not take off the filler cap on the valve cover so the oil comes out slow.
