It is a matter of WEALTH. What if all they got is a herd of horses.? Horses are not unclean. Cattle will eat garbage(weeds and the like)- even meat. Horses are fussy eaters = grass, hay is their preferred food and prefer clean water to drink. The Bible has been wrong on more than one occasion. Horse meat is clean meat. Goats too also eat garbage. Vikings did not have goats. Pigs eat everything, including rats. Chickens will eat rats or mice with a vengeance, and snakes and grass and roots. How is the hoof pattern of any importance.
