The drum beat was very important (I watched a lot of TARZAN MOVIES) they did not worry about the pitch or tempo; just the fact someone was Beating on them was a message.   2. When you were talking 200 years back, Beethoven's 9th symphony came to mind(not that it is 200 years old) - it was the tune that came to mind. Or a bunch of other pieces by many different artists. I liked ZZtop for their stage presentation and the funky music they came out with at that time. Or BACHmann Turner Overdrive(BTO). Deep Purple, the Doors,. Joannie Mitchel has some interesting tunes and lyrics. Bob Dillion had a different sound. Who knows, 200 hundred years from now we may use "Disco Duck" as a vaccine against "aliens". Pretty sure I will be dead.

"Totally shooting from the recesses of your mind" Many jobs are lonesome jobs so no audience. No time to grab a musical instrument so you make the sound between your ears<< Poets are everywhere. 1 person can also mimic musical instrument sounds for a rhythm or beat. SAME one person.

Visit a house construction site secretly mainly because the individual contractors who are working there sing old tunes, mainly because there is a catchy rhythm and they are working alone in an MT house so the reverb//echo is awesome especially "before" the floors get carpeted. They sing to keep themselves company. Also makes the job less monotonous. Great sound (better than in the shower) The painter is a lone worker so generally it is quite silent. My dad (a European from Germany) would start singing. Mostly Johnny Cash. The older stuff that there were catchy phrases. He didn't sing the whole song but sang the Phrase. I painted alone too so either had a radio on a ROCK station or would sing the catch to BTO, ZZTOP, Earth, Wind& Fire, Dire Straits, Queen, Jim Croce, BeeGees, Olivia-Newton John, Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Doors, The Carpenters, Johnny Cash, the Beach Boys, Jan &Dean, Pink Floyd (money & the wall),Doobie Brothers; Michael Jackson "Beat it"...followed up by "Eat It" by Weird Al Yankovits. No, we didn't play musical instruments and we also were not singers. This is the stuff that stuck in our memories. Nothing perfect so we made up the words when in doubt. Next day it could be entirely different. The old Russian working song happens. So, do the songs last 100 years? Some do.

  8. Just so YOU know, top 10 applies to your region, (which may be a state or region - not worldwide.) Radio stations are forced to play it. I can turn the radio off and plug in a CD. Tastes do vary greatly from person to person. This Boomer would have NONE of this schit recorded that I would listen to repeatedly. Am stuck on older sounds that had better catchy lyrics. Just sayin
